Scratch Video Game Design (3-5)

It's time to stop just playing video games and start making them! This class is a fun-filled adventure that transforms children into real game designers. From the very first day, we'll be hands-on, bringing our ideas to life. Children will learn how to make characters talk and move with animation, then take charge with real player controls. We'll build our first complete game, learning how to use variables to create a high score, collision logic (if/then) to collect items, and even add timers and enemies for a real challenge. We'll even code our own game physics to make characters jump and fall just like in a real platformer! Each class, we'll build a new skill, all leading up to the final classes where children will use their new powers to design, build, and share their own original video game from start to finish.
